Cortijo La Calera lies nestled amid olive groves on the slopes of the awe insiping Peña de Hierro( Rock of Iron ) It is the ideal place to discover the amazing flora and fauna of the Andalucian interior. The scent of lavender, thyme and sage that edge any track you walk along; the fascinating bird life that changes with the seasons - and after a day out you can return to the comfort of Casa Algarrobo.

three double bedrooms, one triple bedded room, a folding childs bed , a cot and an adult comfy sofa bed.

Three bathrooms ( one en-suite ) with showers, rather than baths, in this water conscious area.

Two well equipped kitchens, A large dining terrace and BBQ ( seats 12 ) perfect to unwind with a glass of wine, perhaps. This terrace has gates for the safety of young children and can be shaded from the sun by a full waterproof canopy. Two further small terraces.

Pretty roof terrace, perfect for morning coffee or viewing the stunning sunsets.

Homely living room with sofa and armchairs. Books, cd player and board games provided. No T.V but we have WiFi internet connection. Bring your laptop.

A spacious terrace of handmade tiles surrounds the pool, 12m x 5m which has roman steps giving easy access to non-swimmers and children who are happy playing in the pool for hours.

Poolside shower. Pool room with a w.c, automatic washing machine and ironing facilities.

Poolside loungers, tables , chairs, cushions are provided in both sunny and shaded areas, one of which has an enchanting cave which can be floodlit at night.

The resident owners will respect your privacy but are on hand if you wish help or advice and share their local knowledge with you, if required. they will pre-shop for you if you are arriving at a difficult hour. Welcome packs are provided and our baker calls with freshly baked bread, daily.

Original beams and charming features, comfortable beds, attractive bathrooms, cosy sofas, mosquito netting on all the windows.

The house is cleaned to a high standard before each arrival and the bathrooms and kitchens weekly during a longer stay. There is no daily maid service. There are background central heating radiators.

We trust your stay with us will be enhanced by the personal touch often lacking on other holidays.
