Antequera - Luxury Villa and Apartment

The Villa Apartment has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4/6. Bedroom 1 double bed and en-suite with pool view. Bedroom 2 twin beds and en-suite. Double sofabed in lounge area. En-suite bathrooms to both bedrooms. Fully tiled both with shower, hand basin and WC. Fitted kitchen equipped with microwave, oven, hob and fridge. All necessary crockery and utensils are included. Iron and ironing board, use of washing machine on request for the apartment. Spacious living area with double sofa/sofa bed, table and chairs, Log burner for the cooler winter evenings and TV and DVD player. Leading onto private balcony with views over pool and surrounding hills. Towels, linen and separate pool towels are supplied. Pool shared with Villa.

The Villa has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6/10. The Master bedroom with King size bed and en-suite. Bedroom 2 -King size bed, bedroom 3 -double bed. Twin beds and double sofabed are also available. There are 2 more bathrooms to share for the remaining bedrooms and extra beds. All fully tiled with bath, shower, hand basin and WC. Fitted kitchen equipped with microwave, oven, hob, and fridge. All necessary crockery and utensils are included. Iron and ironing board, use of washing machine. The Villa has a large sitting/dining room, reading room, kids TV area, fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons (ice making etc). Private bar area and upstairs patio with stunning views across the country side. Office with internet and utility room. Shared pool with apartment.

If you want, you can rent the apartment and Villa together, which means that you can accomodate up to 16 people. Ideal for groups of friends, famillies and get togethers.

Ceiling fans in all rooms. Log burners in both the villa and the apartment. As a private rural country residence pets are welcome.

Outside
Private shaded balconies for both the villa and the apartment, leading to the swimming pool (8x4m). Large poolside terrace with sun loungers, parasols, barbecue plus shaded area with table and chairs. The villa has its own private bar for complete comfort and relaxation, with stunning unparalleled views across the surrounding Olive strewn Andalucian hills. The pool is shared by the villa and the apartment and we ask that all guests respect each other.

Coast/Beach
Lake Iznajar (approx. 20 mins) there is a large beach where you can swim, sail, canoe or windsurf from in the summer months. Pedaloes also for hire. Beachside cafe/restaurant. The Costa del Sol lies approx 1 hour away offering a huge choice of beaches if required. Here there are many coastal attractions ideal for children such as Water parks at Velez-Malaga, Mijas, Torremolinos, Selwo marina/dolphinarium and Safari park, Tivoli theme park with rides, Fuengirola Zoo, Crocodile Park.

Golf
Antiquera Golf course,18 hole par 72, measuring 6,030 meters, with a total of ten lakes. It was designed by Jose Maria Canizares and is situated approx. 650 meters above sea level. Set amidst superb mountain scenery. The first half of the course provides views over the Antequera plains, the second half is situated at the foot of the famous El Torcal mountains. The course lies approx 20 mins away. There is also a large choice of courses along the Costa del Sol within a 50 minute drive.

Skiing
The Ski resort of Sierra Nevada lies approx. 1 1/2 hours drive to the east, near Granada. Excellent facilities cater for all abilities, offering hire of all skiing equipment, including a dedicated snow-board area. Husky dog sledge rides and snow bikes are for hire. The resort is also a great favourite for walkers in winter and summer.

Special interest holidays
Bird guiding half days or full days around the lake and surrounding area can be arranged with a local experienced birder subject to notice. Guided walking tours arranged in and around the local area subject to notice. Malaga airport 50 mins. Granada airport 50 mins. Cordoba 1 hr. Seville 1 hr 45 mins. Granada 1 hr. Antiquera railway station 20 mins. Iznajar 20-25 mins. Car hire essential. Flights to Malaga with Easyjet and Flybe. Ryanair and Monarch have flights to Granda. Monarch also fly to Malaga, as well as BMI baby.

Villanueva de Algaidas is the nearest town 3 mins.The historic town of Antiquera 20 mins. El Torcal south of Antiquera 50 mins. El chorro lakes 40 mins. Iznajar lake 20 mins. Sierra Nevada Ski resort 1 hr 30 mins. Well situated for easy motorway access to Granada, Cordoba, Seville and Malaga. The charming town of Antequera is approx 30km with interesting attractive Baroque architecture, many impressive churches, Moorish castle with gardens above town, ancient bull ring and excellent shop.

Set in the heart of rural unspoilt spain close to the borders of Malaga, Cordoba and Granada provinces, offering easy touring access of all the main cultural centres of the region. The town of Villanueva de Algaidas offers a wide veriaty of restaurants, tapas bars and shops including two supermarkets. Iznajar with its fascinating winding narrow streets, Moorish castle and church offers many little bars, restaurants and dozens of small shops. The property is situated within an unspoilt typically rural location which produces some of spain's finest olive oil. The olive harvesting period runs from approx december to march. Walking: there are many local walks of varying degrees of difficulty, with tracks and trails around the nearby lake with stunning views and for more serious walkers the gr7 (Gran Recorrido) footpath which crosses andalucia passes very close by and into Cordoba province through the beautiful and dramatic Sierras Subetica parque natural. The El Torcal- parque natural with remarkable limestone rock formations, abundant flora and fauna, walking trails and incredible views towards the Mediterranean lies south of antequera. Approx 50 mins. Fuente de piedra with its huge lagoon and nature reserve is famous for hundreds of flamingo and at least 30 species of Aquatic birds. Approx 40 mins. Antequera lies 47 km north of the city of Málaga on the A45 road, at the foot of the mountain ranges of El Torcal and Sierra de la Chimenea, 575 m above mean sea level. It overlooks the fertile valley bounded to the south by the Sierra de los Torcales, and to the north by the river Guadalhorce. It occupies a commanding position.
